Conor Friedersdorf Is A Dumb Ass




 
Mark Steyn recently wrote about the embarrassing lack of American press coverage of Islamic honor killings in the United States.
 
In a hilarious attempt at gotcha!, The Atlantic's Conor Friedersdorf proceeds to expend untold hours researching Steyn's claim, penning a looooooooong post and demanding a correction from Steyn.
 
One problem? Friedersdorf has some distracting reading comprehension and/or geography deficiencies, for he wastes his, his editors', your, and my time thoroughly presenting a long list of American newspapers covering Islamic honor killings ... outside the US. Which was exactly Steyn's point: the press interest is with the honor killings Over There, not those in our own backyard.
 
FAIL.

Doubling down, Friedersdorf directs me to a new post where he focuses on a single American honor killing in Phoenix that Steyn mentions and the massive coverage it got --- in the local Arizona papers --- as if that proves his point.
