Police chief group apologizes to minorities for 'historical mistreatment'



The head of one of the largest police organizations in the US offered a formal apology to minority communities for the first time on Monday, acknowledging the role that law enforcement has played in "society's historical mistreatment" of people of color.

International Association of Chiefs of Police president Terrence Cunningham spoke of the importance of recognizing past injustices at the group's annual conference in San Diego, Calif., noting that "this dark side of our shared history has created a multigenerational, almost inherited, mistrust between many communities of color and their law enforcement agencies."

That and a Father in the home with married parents who love/educate/put their children first is another key to most of what helps in all society.

IACP Survey Responses from Trump and Clinton

A recent survey from the International Association of the Chiefs of Police (IACP) was sent to the Hillary Clinton camp as well as Donald Trump, and they responded. 

A review of the survey results from both camps reveals very long-winded responses from the Clinton camp. Clinton’s responses pointed towards a need for reform in law enforcement. Meanwhile, the Trump campaign showed overwhelming support for law enforcement and a greater need to enforce current laws.

When asked of plans for lowering crime, the Trump response was to “ensure the law of the land would be enforced.”  Clinton’s response to the same question was that violent crime was already lowering…but the overall problem with crime could not be fixed  with out some support for gun control.

When it comes to local law enforcement...the president of the United States has little, if any, direct impact on the men and women in blue.

Bringing in the presidential candidates to this particular discussion lacks any relevance.

I would think it is pretty well understood that Donald is the Law and Order candidate?

Now the Democrats have forced the IACP to apologize for enforcing the law against criminals!

the thread is about a large organization of professional police chiefs publicly recognizing past injustices inflicted on citizens by police departments.


are you suggesting the organization is insincere in it's public apology?
