Debate night: Trump struggles, Clinton clings to facts and figures, Holt stumbles


Winner? If we must, round one . . . goes to Clinton – my scorecard had her ahead on points, with no knockdowns, so no lasting damage to Trump.

Clinton was more composed on the stage and showed more command of the facts. She didn’t cough (the medical story coming out of Hofstra: a sniffing Trump could have used a Neti Pot).

In all, Clinton was more agile than Trump.

The moderator tried to keep the discussion on Donald Trump rather than on Hillary.  Holt didn't bring up Hillary's email scandal, her Clinton Foundation pay for play investigation, her insulting half of Trump's supporters.  He didn't challenge Hillary on any of her fact errors (eg, murder rate down after 'stop and frisk' stopped), but he did challenge Trump several times.  Still, Trump should have known that was coming, and he should have brought up those issues on his own even if Holt didn't want to.
