'Lurking clown' arrested in Kentucky woods

Police in Middlesboro, Kentucky have arrested a “lurking clown” that they say was crouching in the woods near an apartment complex in a full mask and costume.
 
The police department had received multiple complaints about the clown from several areas within the city, and were finally able locate and capture the masked menace Friday night.
 
Jonathan Martin, 20, has now been charged with disorderly conduct and “wearing a mask in a public place” according to local media. The Bell County Detention Center released his mugshot this morning, while Martin was still dressed in his “killer clown” costume which can be purchased online for $39.99.
 
Martin’s is the latest arrest that’s come out of “Clownpocalypse,” a string of “creepy clown” sightings that has kept the southern United States on edge.

Anti-masking laws in the United States date back to the mid 1950s; states and cities enacted to hinder the Ku Klux Klan, whose members typically wore hoods that concealed their faces. What's exciting about that and why the irrelevant, Islamophobic allusion, jim?

You're confused again, don't-blameme. The law you're misquoting applies to persons wearing masks, hoods, disguises, etc., while  participating in the activities of secret societies, or to wear a mask, hood, disguise, etc.; for illegal purposes. Those laws are also usually written to prohibit persons above a specified age to wear masks, hoods, disguises, etc., on public ways, or while on the premises of public and municipal property. Explain why a Muslim woman wearing a burka should be subject to an anti-masking law.
