Charlotte Tea Party chief headed to prison on child porn conviction

For 10 years, Christian Hine from Fort Mill was a familiar face of conservatism in Charlotte.

Hine was all over the Internet and other media for years. He spoke passionately at rallies at the U.S. Capitol on behalf of conservative causes.

He spoke out against the Affordable Care Act; was against toll roads in Mecklenburg County and taxes in York County; spoke before rallies for such candidates running for president and Congress as Rand Paul and Greg Brannon in North Carolina. He was president of a Charlotte area Tea Party group for years. He was the volunteer Mecklenburg County chair for N.C. Lt. Gov. Dan Forest’s campaign in 2012 and co-designed the grassroots strategy to get Forest elected, his lawyers said.

He led the charge to stop sports taxes in Charlotte. He stood up for what he believed in, say those who knew him.

But Christian Hine had a secret.

In order to battle an autistic disorder and depression from a failed relationship, he was “self-medicating” with child pornography.

He now sits in a prison cell within the S.C. Department of Corrections for possession of child pornography, having admitted an addiction that involved hundreds of pictures of children, shared thousands of times over a decade, as he dealt with bouts of depression by viewing porn involving children.

Jim, it's just this constant republican bashing.  Seems any negative information, no matter how old, no matter how irrelevant is fair game for slinging at the Republican cloud.   It does nothing but piss people off, but then, maybe that is it's intent, it's ONLY intent.  It just ruins the experience for everyone here.  some of us would actually like to engage a subject with the objective to trying to find a solution rather than just another slam/bash/slap ideological trash talk.

Is it any wonder we have the troubles we have.  No one is interested in solving the problems.  The just fan the flames for something to slap the opposition across the face with.

I have actually been to Ft. Mill SC, the home to the Jimmy/Tammy/Jimmy home for Christians in a theme park concept.  We stopped there one year while it was still in operation and going strong.  A great concept, unfortunately killed thru greed. 

We were returning from out winter vacation in Florida, generally we go for 4 or 5 weeks in Feb/Mar.  We have friends who's Mother put $25,000 into the program that promised her a 3 week vacation anytime she wanted it.  Who asked us to stop there and see what it was like.

She had attempted to get a one week vacation and they didn't seem to have room to accommodate her.  Which made her daughter suspicious.

Actually it was lovely, it had a mall so to speak of stores as well as the ceiling of this mall had the stars and constellations as seen in the heavens... And they had lots of water rides, in other words, it was a neat facility, with lots of Christian themes.

It wasn't too long after we were there that it came out as a scam, and they had misused so much of the money that they had collected and oversold the available space.  And of course there was the famous air conditioned dog houses.

It was really a shame.  I do not doubt that such a concept would work, as there are thousands of Christian families who could support such an enterprise.

However, allow me to say... Not much changes in this world...Find a sucker... Bump their head.
