Lammas Day British festival day. It is the forerunner of America's Thanksgiving and Canada's Harvest Festival.

I'm chuckling because we never did recognize this Festival although I'm sure in some parts of the UK people are still baking tons of loaves of bread and having a good old bread and beer party.  Not my family though.  We did always celebrate Guy Fawkes day.  Thank you anyway - any reason to celebrate, right?
