Bad day for Coaches

Buddy Ryan longtime pro football coach died today as well as Pat Summit the NCAA basketball coach with the most wins.  She was an Olympic player in the 60's on the US team as sell the longtime coach of the Univ of Tenn women's basketball coach.

Absolutely! I loved Pat Summit as the coach of the Lady Vols! She was an inspiration to a lot of young ladies, a tremendous coach and friend to all she coached. She had a work ethic that is rarely seen. Alzheimer's is a terrible disease and it robbed Tennessee and the country of a strong, brilliant woman. She will be sorely missed, not only by ladies basketball fans, but admirers of strong women throughout the country.

Thanks, I still read the Knoxville News Sentinel on line...even though I haven't lived in that area since the early 60's. Pat was an inspiration to all female athletes and did indeed have a wonderful ability to keep the talent she coached believing.


I went back to UT a few years ago for a class reunion.  She was at our dinner and spoke to us. 

No, I am not a female...but I love Big Orange... Go Vols!!!!!
