The intent of the 2nd amendment was NOT for hunting. It was always to allow citizens to protect themselves from enemies of both foreign and domestic.
 
Therefore if that enemy comes at the citizens with tanks, then yes, citizens need access to tanks and anti-tank weapons to fight that. If that force comes at us with drones then YES, we need stinger missiles (if we can afford them) to protect ourselves.  Which part don't you understand?

When was it reinterpreted in 2008?  It's always upheld the right of the citizens to keep and bear/carry arms as long as you aren't threatening others with them.  During the revolution, ship owners had cannons an were given letters of mark by the legislature to use them.  If you leftist traitors knew our history instead of feeding on a steady diet of regressive leftist bull you,d know that!
