Louie Gohmert Imagines A Future With Gay Astronauts

Right-wing Republicans have this incredible fascination with what LGBT people do with their genitalia. Few of them are more obsessed with gay sexy time than Texas congressman Louie Gohmert. His fixation on the LGBT community as a threat to the future of our country is so absurd that one can only wonder if Louie Gohmert has some personal interest in hot, man-on-man action himself.

In the past, the Texas congressman has warned that gay marriage was a threat to the future of humanity, while hypothesizing in detail how same-sex couples would reproduce if stranded on a desert island.

Now Louie Gohmert has taken to the House floor to argue against an LGBT protection amendment, because he has a new obsession, with gay astronauts.



He said that if lawmakers had to decide “whether humanity would go forward or not” in case of an imminent asteroid collision by putting people in a “space ship that can go, as Matt Damon did in the movie, plant a colony somewhere, we can have humans survive this terrible disaster about to befall, if you could decide what 40 people you put on the spacecraft that would save humanity, how many of those would be same-sex couples? You’re wanting to save humankind for posterity, basically a modern-day Noah, you have that ability to be a modern day Noah, you can preserve life. How many same-sex couples would you take from the animal kingdom and from humans to put on a spacecraft to perpetuate humanity and the wildlife kingdom?”

But due to the attacks on “natural order” and religious freedom, Gohmert said, “we don’t have much longer to go.”

Gohmert evidently thinks that gay people sprout somehow from other gay people.   From what I've seen gay people come from heterosexual sex just like everyone else on this planet does don't they?  so having all heterosexual astronauts doesn't rule out the chances of their having gay children does it?
