Once you attempt to change history or rewrite it then it must all be changed not just certain parts, so do it 100% right not half ass, that means change it all as if it never happened.

You can't change history. What's in the past is already done. What's done can't be undone.

We must recognize history, good and bad. If we don't study it, we will probably repeat it. However, we are not required to celebrate the low points in our history. Nor should we revel in the evil parts of it. Much like the statues of Hussein were torn down by the people in Iraq who did not hold him in reverence, we should remove statues of fallen generals and remove symbols of the darker parts of our history.

we let's take the confederate flag on the south carolina capital as an example.  it was only put up there in 1961 in opposition the the Civil Rights legislation.  Nothing racist about that, huh blammey.

Not the same thing at all DBM. We should celebrate the good this country has done, domestically and around the world. The dark days of our history should be taught in school so they aren't forgotten, dooming us to repeat them. Just as we don't erect statues of Hitler, Stalin and Mussolini in our parks and on the lawns of our capital buildings, the side that lost the civil war aren't deserving of a spot in those places either. You and I may look at those statues and see them for their historical value. Others see them completely differently.
