A very RARE find.. The Google Car.

For those who like to dilly dally on Google Earth in street view.
 
Last night I opened Google Earth just to browse it. I decided to check out Paris.  I saw an interesting looking place with the "Garde Republicaine" in an area labeled 12th arr.  So I zoomed in and saw a large parking lot with roads leading around the building.  I went into street view and went down one road then tuned left, I only clicked once or twice and decide to turn back because the road didn't look that interesting, when I clicked to turn around I got the photo below. Apparently two Google Cars met up and the lead car took the photo of the other.  But what is interesting is that this is the ONLY click combination that produces that other car. In other words, one click forward or one click backward does not produce that other car. This means Google thought it deleted all instances of these two cars meeting up but missed one photo that cannot be seen except in this on instance.

Anyways, for those interested, this is the coordinates to replicate it.

I copied those coordinates and pasted them into the Google Earth Search Box and it went to an empty parking lot in Paris.

But, if you move up and down the street in Street View and spin around, you eventually will see the stopped Google Earth car that Jim
   showed the pic of.

I've seen Google Cars several times and a Bing Car once.

Yep, it only shows up if you go up the street at least on click then turn around and go back. But MUST make sure you don't go past the yield sign.

I love Google Earth.

One of my favorite things to do is put in addresses where I've lived in the past...see how they've changed.  I also like putting in the addresses of military installations I know of and watch as I zoom in and suddenly the screen goes fuzzy, LOL...

My favorite one is Cheyenne Mountain complex in Colorado Springs.  Hubby and I used to live right underneath it near the beautiful Broadmoor Hotel...we lived there when they would still keep you outside their zone and get pissed when you would drive the old forest service and BLM roads around the area...
