Liberals do approve of the legalization of marijuana, but not meth, heroin, crack, powder cocaine or any addictive drug. You continue to prove yourself an imbecile. We should decriminalize drug use and provide help as opposed to doing time. Trafficking and sales should still be a crime.

I agree prison time for drug use is not effective at anything but creating criminals and increasing crime. Mandatory  rehab and education is more effective, and long term monitoring through random testing.

The "war on drugs" should be focused only on those who make and traffic meth, etc.   I agree.   The money saved could be used to house addicts for treatment and maybe get them into community service as part payment when they are sober.   Schools also need to educate young children on the honest consequences of hard drug addiction and that it does lead to felony crimes and prison.  Most users go to prison due to the crimes on others to support that addiction.
