Biden Does NOT need a BILL to close the border
He only needs a PEN. Thats all he needed to open it.
Thats all he needed to close it. Thats all Trump needed.
Maybe this is just Proof Trump is better than Biden.

D2D: It is the ISIS/Communist way!

If any monument, person or place offends you remove it!

It is the totalitarian way!

D2Doofas, if a monument is on public display in a city, and maintained by taxpayer dollars in that city, but  offends a large portion of the demographic of that city, then that city's decision to remove it from property it maintains is neither "communistic" nor "totalitarian." It's the right thing to do. And, truth is, it should had been done much sooner.

In Russia, and all of the monuments and statues to Stalin and his regime were removed and destroyed EXCEPT in one place and that was St. Petersburg, formerly Leningrad or Stalingrad.

St. Petersburg said that Stalin/Lenin was history and that if they were ever NOT to repeat it, they needed one place that did not destroy the memory of their regime.  But should be kept as a reminder that such should never happen again.

Perhaps the USA could use the wisdom of the Soviets... Such wisdom is libs is difficult to find.

kensanIV, your babbling about Russia and the leaders of the former Soviet Union is irrelevant. The topic of this discussion is the removal from public view of monuments, maintained by taxpayer money, that commemorate the immoral institution of human bondage and those who fought to defend it. Those monuments are located in the United States, not in Russia, and have absolutely nothing to do with Russian history. In other words, your argument is pointless, irrelevant. You know...a red herring.

By the by, again, the flag of the Union that was carried into battle was no less racist than the flag of the Confederacy that was carried into the Union.  It was the federal union that enshrined the peculiar institution into its law.

The financial base of New England's antebellum manufacturing boom was money it had made in shipping. And that shipping money was largely acquired directly or indirectly from slavery, whether by importing Africans to the Americas, transporting slave-grown cotton to England, or hauling Pennsylvania wheat and Rhode Island rum to the slave-labor colonies of the Caribbean.

Northerners profited from slavery in many ways, right up to the eve of the Civil War. The decline of slavery in the upper South is well documented, as is the sale of slaves from Virginia and Maryland to the cotton plantations of the Deep South. But someone had to get them there, and the U.S. coastal trade was firmly in Northern hands. William Lloyd Garrison made his first mark as an anti-slavery man by printing attacks on New England merchants who shipped slaves from Baltimore to New Orleans.

Long after the U.S. slave trade officially ended, the more extensive movement of Africans to Brazil and Cuba continued.   Slave traders continuing to bring human cargo to Brazil and Cuba did so under the U.S. flag. They also did so in ships built for the purpose by Northern shipyards, in ventures financed by Northern manufacturers.
