Biden Does NOT need a BILL to close the border
He only needs a PEN. Thats all he needed to open it.
Thats all he needed to close it. Thats all Trump needed.
Maybe this is just Proof Trump is better than Biden.

Local5th: Nobody was charged or convicted of being a traitor[,] wvit.

But that's not the issue, Local5th. As defined in the US Constitution, Confederates did, in fact, commit treason against the United States of America. Whether or not they were ever formally charged, tried, and convicted of treason is irrelevant here.

Fact is, by law, they are American veterans.

No, Local5th, you're confused again. The soldiers, sailors, and marines who fought for the Confederate States of America are Confederate veterans.

The reality is you condone tearing down memorials to American soldiers.
What's next? Tearing down memorials to soldiers fighting Bush's war because you think it illegal?

You're still confused, Local5th. New Orleans voted to remove Confederate monuments, not  monuments honouring those who served in the United States armed forces.

Real Americans don't hate American soldiers.

The Confederate flag didn’t fly widely in the south until the 1940s, the Atlantic reports:

After the surrender in 1865, Confederate flags were folded and put away. They were most likely to be spotted at memorials or cemeteries. Even after the hopeful decade of Reconstruction gave way to the violent repression of Redemption, open displays of the flag remained rare. There was no need for a banner to signal defiance; Jim Crow reigned unchallenged.

The flag slowly crept back into public life over the ensuing decades, saluted at veterans’ reunions, promoted by the United Daughters of the Confederacy, even carried into battle by units from the South. By the mid-twentieth century, the flags were also waved by football fans, and sold to tourists.

But as a political symbol, the flag was revived when northern Democrats began to press for an end to the South’s system of racial oppression.

In 1948, the Dixiecrats revolted against President Harry Truman—who had desegregated the armed forces and supported anti-lynching bills. The movement began in Mississippi in February of 1948, with thousands of activists “shouting rebel yells and waving the Confederate flag,” as the Associated Press reported at the time. Some actually removed old, mothballed flags from the trunks where they had until then been gathering dust.

One claim that's been circulating among Confederate apologists in recent weeks would have us believe that Congress passed a law in 1958 giving Confederate veterans status under law equal to U.S. veterans.

Since the Charleston massacre, the claim has resurfaced on conservative websites. In fact, it has circulated so widely of late that a petition has been launched calling on the Obama administration to take action to repeal the law.

But in fact, the law does not do what Confederate apologists say it does. It certainly does not "pardon" Confederate veterans, nor does not generally give them status "equal to" U.S. veterans.

As Confederate history researcher, author and blogger Andy Hall of Texas noted recently in a discussion at another blog when someone claimed that "Congress passed a law making any and all confederate soldier [sic] a US veteran" (emphasis Hall's):

If you're referring to the 1958 legislation, all it did was make Confederate veterans eligible for the same VA benefits as Union soldiers were. It did not make them U.S. veterans, make any other official change in their status, or extend any particular protections to graves or monuments

It's really how the same heritage folks who, generally speaking, have nothing but disdain and mockery for the federal government, cling desperately to this particular bit of legislation as an endorsement of their ancestors' integrity. Is your faith in them and their cause genuinely so weak that you have to have the official imprimatur of the U.S. government to justify their cause? Apparently so.

It is the issue Hawk. To be guilty of any crime in this country you have to be tried and judged by your peers. If you are a lawyer you should know that. What you think is irrelevant.

Still more word games from Local5th:

The fact that high-ranking Confederate politicians and military leaders were never tried, convicted, imprisoned, or executed for treason in no way changes the fact that they did, in actuality, commit treason by waging war against the people and the government of the United States. And, by the way, it's not what I think, Local5th. I'm citing  Article III, Section 3 of the US Constitution.

All you TrEA$on party assholes who love your confederate flag can remember this.  Nearly half a million REAL Americans died fighting against that flag and you can blow that TrEA$on party smoke about culture, etc. out your TrEA$on party asses all day long and you are still nothing but treasonous shitbags who should be hung or shot.

Flying a flag of Treason and sedition should be against the law.  And anyone who wants to display it should do so from a cell in prision.  KMA you shitbag traitors.

By Act of Congress, Confederate Soldiers were made US Military Veterans and given all rights and privileges and awards exactly the SAME as ALL other US Military Veterans!!

There is NO WAY that the US Govt considers these soldiers/veterans to be traitors!!!!

Anyone that calls Confederate Soldiers "traitors" is IGNORANT OF THE TRUTH and OUTRIGHT LIARS!!!!

From the comments, above, we ALL can see exactly who you are!!!

What does the law say about it wvit?

Section 3 also requires the testimony of two different witnesses on the same overt act, or a confession by the accused in open court, to convict for treason.

It doesn't say that the soldiers were made veterans of the US military.
