A slave was a slave not only for his whole life, but so were any children he might have.

The slaves we set free were not slaves for life. Neither were their children. So what you are saying is we set indentured servants free.

Are you so stupid you are using the fact that slavery was eventually outlawed to claim it was really the same as being an indentured servant? Do you even see how stupid you are?  What you are describing clearly shows one of the biggest differences between being a slave and being an indentured servant.  A slave had no rights, no inheritance, no control over whom they married, whom they were separated from, whom they had kids with, which kids would be taken away and when, if not all.  No indentured servant EVER HAD THAT DISGRACEFUL, SADISTIC, INHUMANE BURDEN PLACED UPON HIM.  His kids, his wife, his family in general WERE NEVER BOUND BY ANY WAY TO ANY LEGAL CONTRACT HE SIGNED TO ENTER INTO A SPECIFIC LENGTH OF TIME TO BECOME AN INDENTURED SERVANT.

Mixed race children who were white were sold as slaves. And whites were sold as mixed race slaves short round. So yes there were white slaves.

Slavery was a common practice in our history and it exists in some cultures it today's world.  Acknowledging that in no way defends or approves of it.
