There are no verifiable numbers one way or another.  Just conjecture. 
I posted numbers that indicate not many are shot in self defense…  The total numbers shot, and the FBI justified homicide report.  You called them inflated..

True, but I wouldn't say all gun owners know that. Some that are bought that seem to forget it as well.
That is another problem with "polling" such.  Bravado stories are the flip side of that.  More men lie about their sex lives, fishing trips and shooting than the new five categories.

But those people are armed because there are many other armed people out there.  You really thing that people that shot Presidents are worried about SS having guns.

I sure that occasionally an armed citizen may prevent a crime.  I don't think it is 6,800 a day.
I know occasionally an armed citizen is a victim because he has a gun as we.
Like the "vigilante" that tackled the concealed carry guy going bio a Walmart a few month ago. 
I know some homes are targeted because the burglar know that are guns there, or break into a car because of the NRA sticker in the window..  Been fold that by the burglars.  In my county the worst murder was done by a guy that stole the guns from his neighbor.  One of his victims was a deputy Sheriff. One of those groups that are armed.

Violent criminals will not kindly wait until police arrive!

They will rape, maim or kill you in seconds!

The police take minutes to arrive if you get the chance to call them!

I doubt you have ever been raped, maimed or robber by an armed or unarmed person.  I doubt you ever will be.
I not asking you to give up your guns.  I like mine too, I just don't think they make me safer.  Mine are in a safe near by.  I had the right to CC for many years.  I discovered it was too much trouble to bother with.

Seems like you not only fear that happening but fear the government which upholds the Constitution.  No where in the second amendment dose it mention you have a right to over throw the government established by at Constitution.

No where in the Constitution does it say the government has the right to ignore the Constitution but Obama has done so on several occasions!

Many liberal run States and cities have ignored USSC rulings on the Second Amendment such as Heller and continued to violate the Second Amendment!

 Registration and permitting should be strict in our country.   Background checks for all gun transactions should be the norm.
