I doubt that any R would come out for a Christian Theocracy if they really understood what it is.  We have never really had one in this country, but our founding fathers came mighty close.

I'd rather have a government believing in the values of the Ten Commandants than one that believes in nothing.

As the United States continues to grow its minority population, the number of Americans identifying as a white Christian has dropped. The results of the latest survey put even more pressure on the Republican party that is struggling to build support in various minority voting groups.

KensanIV, explain why you are doubtful of the survey that found 44% of Republicans polled favoured the idea of establishing a Christian theocracy here in the United States.

Evidently, our republic's founders didn't share your theocratic opinion, KensanIV. Apparently, they thought the American people would be best served by believing in and applying the principles set forth in the Constitution and Bill of Rights they drafted

What would Christianity force you to do?  Would they force you to pray?  Would they force your wife to wear a burka?  Would they force you into church?  Would they force you to celebrate Christmas or Easter?

In the past Christianity has forced people to pay fines and face imprisonment for not attending church. The government of England and the Catholic Church of England were pretty much the same thing.

PRINCETON, NJ -- The large majority of Americans -- 77% of the adult population -- identify with a Christian religion, including 52% who are Protestants or some other non-Catholic Christian religion, 23% who are Catholic, and 2% who affiliate with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Another 18% of Americans do not have an explicit religious identity and 5% identify with a non-Christian religion.
