The only thing that keeps squirrels away...a pellet gun..just say'in. Even then they are so stupid to come back.

 There is one cute squirrel around here I call snitchy tail and the big bushy tail I call the Daddy. I would leave them an acorn and a peanut but don't have to because the huge oak tree kitty corner on the next property feeds them well plus all the other type of trees and bushes. And they do borrow an occasional tomato but not too often (saw the water bowl idea instead of tomatos etc for a water source) And see them bury or dig up their oak nut goodies depending on the time of the year.

I have found orange peels on the ground after oranges ripen so might be a squirrel or possum getting a wet treat. The old 30/40 yr plum tree finally died a few years back and those last few years really put out the most amazing crops, thee sweetest juiciest dark meat plums I've ever had, I miss that tree so much. Sometimes critters would snitch a few but at the end it went out with a bang and gave its biggest crop so plenty to share.

Those articles are interesting, marigolds as a distraction & like the name stinking roger lol & gem marigolds. Who knew African marigolds can get to 5 ft!!!!

Your cardinal is a beauty, Sun. The one I saw wasn't as colorful and found something when I looked up called a something titmouse. I saw on google a pretty colorful one, probably the male I'm assuming, the pretty daddy

and the grayer one like the one I saw probably the female: though I thought the one I saw had a little bit of blue underneath
