Obama wasn’t born in Kenya, except when he claims he was born in Kenya

Either Obama was born in Kenya or he wasn’t. I remain skeptical that he was. The question is, then: Why did he claim to be? What advantage did he think it gave him at the time?

It doesn't matter where parents are born as long as they are both American citizens. Obama's father was not. Therefore Obama can not be 'natural born'.

Obama is disqulaified on two counts. 1. Dual citizenship at birth, and 2. Not natural born.

To be eligible for the U.S. Presidency, the Constitution includes the requirement that the person be a "natural born citizen".

His father was not an American citizen.

Claims that Obama was born in Kenya persisted until his presidential campaign. The claim of a Kenyan birth was probably started by Obama himself. Obama also appears to have never refuted the claim either. During a US Senate campaign debate, Obama did not object to his Republican opponent describe him as being born in Kenya. Newspapers in Africa continued to claim he was born in Kenya even after the election.

Immigration records for Obama’s deadbeat father suggest that Obama was not born in Kenya. It is conceivable that he was born in Indonesia. Obama was still claiming Indonesian citizenship when traveling abroad during his college years.

Obama and his handlers have a history of redefining his identity when expedient.

Obama has been known frequently to fictionalize aspects of his own life. During his 2008 campaign, for instance, Obama claimed that his dying mother had fought with insurance companies over coverage for her cancer treatments.

That turned out to be untrue, but Obama has repeated the story–which even the Washington Post called “misleading”–in a campaign video for the 2012 election.

The Acton & Dystel biography could also reflect how Obama was seen by his associates, or transitions in his own identity. He is said, for instance, to have cultivated an “international” identity until well into his political life.
