1 Arrested In Fight At Statehouse Over Confederate Flag

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) – One man has been arrested after a fight over the Confederate flag in front of the South Carolina Statehouse.

Public Safety Department spokeswoman Sherri Iacobelli says in a statement that the fight started around 7:15 p.m. Monday.

Police say about a dozen vehicles with Confederate flag supporters pulled up in front of the Statehouse and stopped in the middle of the street. Officers said about ten of the flag supporters clashed with about 30 people on the Statehouse grounds who were protesting the flag.

Twenty-five-year-old Nicholas Thompson of Irmo has been charged with disorderly conduct. It wasn’t clear if he has an attorney.

I suspect that this form of civil disobediance will continune until the South Carolina legislature acts to remove the traitor flag from public land.
 
And state taxpayers will have to fork out the money to keep putting the secessionist flag up...or providing additional security for the sign of treason and hate.
