Harry Reid wants UNLV to change "Rebel" mascot

Sen. Harry Reid says Nevada higher education officials should look at changing the Confederate-themed mascot at UNLV.

Reid told reporters in Washington D.C. on Tuesday that Nevada's Board of Regents should take a look at changing UNLV's current mascot and sports team name from the so-called "Running Rebels."
"I believe that the Board of Regents should take that up and take a look at it," Reid said.

I have some suggestions for alternate names, Harry.  How about,

UNLV Redskins
UNLV Fighting Sioux
UNLV Red Men
UNLV Chiefs
UNLV Seminoles
UNLV Black Hawks
UNLV Indians
UNLV Bullets
or
UNLV Alexander Hamiltons?

great idea.  here in dallas, even the local school leaders here changed all the offensive mascot names like "rebels" and "republicans" to other less offensive names many decades ago.
