Such a beautiful place to visit, takn.  We also have the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm in Woodburn a short drive from us.  It is up and ready for it's festival this weekend:

Turn off I 5 at Conway, or even take the Stanwood turn off, then head on the side roads to Conway, from Conway head across Fir Island to La Conner, you'll be in tulip country then.  Most of the big back up is at the Mount Vernon and Burlington off ramps.  more and more people are takin these routes, so I sorry if they are packed as well.  That is the way we come home from Seattle during "tulip traffic" time. 
There are maps every where.  Try the Snow Goose Market on Fir Island.  (If you need a ice cream cone that is the place.) 
Do try to make it on a weekend, my son is working at Rozengarten, he says there are already lots of people.  (He is sun burned..)

Oh My so many beautiful places to visit - I wish we lived closer to the ones in Washington.

One of the most beautiful trips I have ever taken is a train ride in spring time from The Hague to Amsterdam.  It went through the bulb fields and we were literally blinded by huge squares of color most of the way and of course the occasional windmill.  We also went to Keukenhoff Park in the Spring in Amsterdam which is famous for the most stunning display of flowers.  It has to be my most favorite time of the year.
