why not ask rudi guiliani?  he has done both.  except i think he really, really, really likes being a drag queen more.

but seriously.  do you really think that is a good point?  do you think drag queens are making fun of women by dressing as women?  are they mimicking their stereotypical language or appearance or persona in order to make fun of women?  because when you watch 98% of the blackface performers that is exactly what they were doing to black folks.  the lazy, slow "yes, massa" persona, except when the music came on, and they strutted and stepped out with broad white smiles shining out from the black black faces, and their eyes popped open wide in sheer joy at getting to perform for the white folk....

I have only seen one "drag revue" and I can tell you, it was incredibly raunchy and derogatory and I was young, unmarried and pretty damn hip at the time and I was embarrassed and made to feel very ugly and dirty...
