Thanks , Takn, and your sister's blue sounds like what I want, I haven't my story board in front of me, but it was valspar and a blue/gray.   Sun, you are right, all that cobalt  glass needs to stand on it own beauty.

The exterior of our house is a gray/green color, I think it's called colonial gray and I love it.  My older son painted his bedroom a combo of golden straw/winter white on the walls (wooly roller) and it's a dark tuscan blue on the ceiling.  I didn't think the combo would work, but it does...
 
Blues, so long as they are not too bright can be used anywhere...and bright blues can be used easily and thoughtfully on a single wall or as a border stripe...
 
I think Gri's ideas are fantastic and she knows what she likes...that's really all that matters...

yes aesop, it's subtle...and that picture still doesn't do her actual color justice...the blue is noticeable...and lovely...but again, blue is easily used anywhere and I like Gri's idea...it's her house...
