Cat Lovers?

We have 4 black cats and a white tree. And the tree is secured to the walls by two cords for just such antics like this.

I just have a four foot table top tree and the cat I had for 15 years never messed with it at all. Unfortunately, she developed mammary cancer earlier this year and I had to let her go in August. After a month or so, I just couldn't stand not having a cat, so I went to the shelter and adopted Buffy. I was worried that she would be one of those cats who love to destroy Christmas trees. To my surprise, she doesn't pay one bit of attention to it. Whew!

We had a cat a while back that loved to climb up the artificial tree and lay/sleep
  within the low branches near the trunk. Sometimes a few bulbs would fall off,
  but otherwise no problem. We were afraid she might unbalanced the tree and it
  would fall over. So, I hung some orange peels variously around the trunk and
  that kept her away. (Cats hate citrus!!)

Depends on the cat. We have on that seems to be immune to orange peels and mothballs. He's ripped the plastic off of every window in the house.  As to elderly cats, we lost my 23 year old fur buddy a year ago Oct.  I was one of the first things he saw when he first opened his eyes, unfortunately, I wasn't home when he laid down for his final nap. He went to sleep and never woke up.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your 23 year old fur baby. Twenty-three years is remarkable. Mine was never sick a day in her life and I've often wondered how long she would have lived had she not developed cancer.



I took that picture last Christmas. Wish I'd have know it would be the last Christmas I would have with her.

I HAVE 8 CATS AND AM BEYOND THE IDEA OF HAVING A TREE PUT UP ANYMORE. I USED TO TIE THEM TO THE WALL AND CEILING. THE CATS GOT FATTER AND THE TREE STILL ENDED UP DOWN.

 Our Owner -HU Zi  , had to go to sleep last march !!  Developed Kitty Aids!  I still miss him He was sooo good  never did anything bad!!


  Im thinking of volunteering at the shelter in Town so I can see what comes in first  and Get the drop on Another Orange Beast  who is very friendly!
   As soon as we close On the  house in the country we can have a cat and a dog,,
