Those who argue that the wealthy are overtaxed focus solely on the federal personal income tax, while ignoring the other taxes that Americans pay.
 
But, as the table [at the link above] illustrates, the total share of taxes (federal, state, and local) that will be paid by Americans across the economic spectrum in 2014 is roughly equal to their total share of income.

Every decent American is proud to pay Taxes.  "Normal" taxes.  But when the idiots start wanting Taxes on Carbon and boogers, then we need to draw a line.

Not the self employed.  Not government exempt employees.

The nation's tax system is barely progressive.

It shouldn't be progressive at all.  Sales tax is fair.  Head tax is fair.

Many taxes are regressive, meaning they take a larger share of income from poor and middle-income families than they do from the rich.

Like groceries, movie tickets, clothing, furniture, cleaning supplies, personal grooming products, train tickets, etc.

I don't see anything wrong with "regressive," as they define it.  Regressive = fairness.  Why should a rich person have to pay more for a toaster than a poor person?  Why should a rich person be punished for being more successful?
