MAGA Policies bring Misery and Death to America!

"[T]here's no evidence whatsoever that the Bush tax cuts actually diminished revenue," McConnell contends, in spite of overwhelming evidence that these cuts diminished revenue at historic rates.

The Bush administration repeatedly predicted that tax cuts would boost overall revenue, but they assuredly did not. And they still don't, as Kansans have learned during Gov. Sam Brownback's "real live experiment" in conservative economics, which has only blown a hole in the state budget.

Despite all the evidence to the contrary, some here will STILL believe tax cuts pay for themselves.  :P

What simpletons...

I agree that tax cuts don't increase revenue.  They also don't prevent or decrease spending.    Spending continues unabated and increases without tax increases or in the presence of tax cuts.

We only have the examples of Coolidge, Kennedy, Reagan, Clinton and Bush do go by.  Did federal revenue go up when democrats cut taxes?  Yes, actually.  As it did when Republicans cut taxes.  You are entitled to your own opinion, but you are not entitled to your own facts.  The fact is that when tax rates were cut, revenue increased every single time.

The fallacy here is that tax cuts are an EXPENDITURE.  They most certainly are not.  Therefore, they do not require a revenue source to "pay" for them.

Of course, Davik, that is no rational argument against tax cuts, either, for that matter.

Taxes are the power source of Government.  Every Tax cut represent a loss of power for the Government.  The level of Taxation only determines who has the power, the Government, or the People.

What is your choice?

davik,

So how much more needs to be taken from the economy, to offset dictator obama's $12 trillion increase to our national debt?  Just a ball park figure...which is approx $4900 for each of the eight years your dictator obama has been in office for every man, women and child in the nation?  That should do well for an economy already in quasi-recession

Taxes are the power source of Government.

This is true.  Not necessarily because of the money it brings them.  But because of the control it gives them over our behavior.
