According to a recent report by KWCH, a homeowner in Sedgwick County, Kan., showed a man trying to break into his home how far he is willing to go to protect his family. When the armed resident, identified as Mr. Dudley, heard a suspicious noise early one morning this week, he retrieved his handgun and went to investigate.
Upon finding a man attempting to gain entry into his home, Dudley gave chase, firing at the would-be robber.

“It was just a duty to protect my family,” he said of his motivation to neutralize the threat.
He recalled hearing a burglar alarm followed by the sound of breaking glass.
“I went to investigate the noise and found an intruder breaking and entering my home,” he said.
The incident took him by surprise, he said, telling reporters that such an incident is impossible to anticipate.
