Humanity has suffered more tragedy, hate and inhumanity as a result of this disturbing belief in a god.

I have inner peace and satisfaction in my life when I know I am in charge of all my decisions, good or bad. I have no one to blame or praise as a result.

I cannot sit around and pray for something to happen or not happen when it either will or it won't often depending on what you do or don't do to affect your desired outcome.

How can one ignore someone who hasn't (if ever) been around.  Jesus may have existed at one time.  But has long ago been gone.  If those who think Jesus still exist, and they feel he has made their life better, then more power to them. 
 
I am of a strong mind and do not need the crutch of an imaginary person to fulfill my life.

The big issue for many atheists is that the founders of the U.S. used Judeo-Christian ethics/philosophy when forming this nation which began with the Declaration of Independence and our Constitution.   Jesus was included as the founder's writings state over and over again.
