what are we to do about this huge percentage of male-on-human violence?  should we jail all males on probable cause?  if cops confront them on the street, should they shoot first and ask questions later, knowing how they commit 90% of all murders?  isn't that proof that males are sub-humans and cannot be trusted to live in decent socieity?  wouldn't we be better off if all males were shipped back to Mars, where they came from?

In 2009, the majority of the total correctional population (prison, jails, community supervision) was male (82 percent) and 18 percent was female.

Men comprised a smaller portion of the total population in 2009 than in 1990 while the percentage of women increased slightly within the total correctional population.

The rate of incarceration in prisons and jails per 100,000 was 1,352 for males and 126 for females. The rates by race include Black females (260), Hispanic females (133) and White females (91).


The number of female prisoners rose at a faster rate (4.8 percent) then the number of male prisoners (2.7 percent). The percent increase in female prisoners was almost twice that of male prisoners.

I would wager that today most violent men were raised in a fatherless home and that this home would be supported by the nanny state. Ergo the nanny state promulgates the conditions for its existance.

you really think so?  do you think you should be punished for the actions of what a very tiny percentage of criminal men do? it is hard to believe somebody can think profiling people is the answer to men being more likely to be violent than women- treat all men as if they are fucked up assholes!!  the most recent year i can find for percentage of males in prison, from 2008, black males had the highest percentage at 4%, latino at almost 2% and whites at almost 1%....even taking the HIGHEST PERCENTAGE, that means you would want to punish 25 people for the actions of 1 person by profiling them.
