How Ferguson Officer Darren Wilson mastered the disappearing act

 

One morning late last month, a St. Louis courtroom filled up with prosecutors, lawyers and press who wondered if they'd catch a glimpse of a vanished man.

 

The man, police officer Darren Wilson, hadn't been seen in public since Aug. 9, when he shot and killed an unarmed black teenager and found himself in a wave of national fury.
 
But here, at this unrelated preliminary hearing, Wilson had incentive to appear. He'd been asked to show up to provide testimony against an alleged low-level drug dealer — somebody he'd wrestled to the ground and handcuffed 20 months earlier, in an arrest that won him a Ferguson city commendation. Now Wilson just had to recount the story to a judge.
 
The courtroom players took their places for just one in a series of rapid-fire hearings. A few minutes passed. The judge called the defense attorney and prosecutor into whispering range, and soon it became clear: Wilson wasn't going to show, his absence emblematic of a remarkable period in which the central character of an explosive national story has gone totally dark. Judge Mary Schroeder then dismissed the drug case for what she called a "failure to prosecute."

Wilson hasn't been seen - but he is being PAID to "serve". I would imagine his brothers in blue have been donating vacation days for him -  and making sure his every "need" is being met. Heck - they came up with bracelets to celebrate him - and expected to be allowed to wear them ON DUTY - while they patrolled the same street as street justice "law enforcement" officer Darren Wilson - cowardly executioner of rights entitled BLACK teens. Just because...

Ah, what reason was that again, Wilson?

Oh what the hell - Ferguson Missouri is negotiating a pension for him - even though he hasn't served enough years ON DUTY to be entitled to a pension. Nothing like corrupted city bureaucracies that condone it.

Some things never change. America the Beautiful - still ruled by racist thugs. To this day.

So you would rather he and his family be killed?  You don't believe, an officer, in the line of duty, must sometimes make split second decisions, especially after being attacked?


People have threatened to kill him and his family.

Now that doesn't sound like people wanting justice, it sounds like people wanting revenge.  To do so, without the benefit of having him tried, should it come to that, is even more egregious than any act they perceive that Officer Wilson carried out.

I would rather see and witness police officers THINKING about the consequence of their racist actions before they target teens on the street in broaddaylght, chose to exit their vehicles, choose to unholster their loaded weapons, and choose to unload their weapons into (presumed to be innocent until proven guilty of a petty crime) unarmed BLACK YOUTHS broadaylight - making sure they are dead and silenced forever.

I would rather police unions back THAT UP by not standing with suspect police officers - but instead cooperating with criminal investigations subsequent to police shootings and making sure BAD SEEDS are weeded out.

Trigger happy street executioner's - have no place on any force.

The consequence to their families? You tell me - how many times do you really think Darren Wilson or his family have thought long and hard about the CONSEQUENCE of Darren Wilson's actions - a family being forced to pick out a casket, view their son in a morgue, bury their son before he turned 19.

Just because the Ferguson Police Force enjoined on a hot summer's day (because they had nothing better to do) to go all out on the PROWL for a suspected shoplifter. And Michael Brown turned out to be their racist play toy on that hot summer day.

No reason to lawfully take him into custody or actually admit you were on the prowl for him - the police chief trying to suggest instead over and over Michael Brown was approached because he was witnessed to be jaywalking. Come on, Takn - I would rather you stand up for AMERICANS not being disserved and executed like this - by trigger happy RACIST embarassments to any and all police forces. Darren Wilson - God help him. He will survive just fine. His pension offered to him at an early age - will provide for him and his family quite well - but never suffice for bringing back to life MURDER VICTIM Michael Brown.
