What am I thankful for today

that Halloween candy was still on sale and I got the dollar bags of it for 30 cents a bag... it's ok to have sweets sometimes... it's the nerds... the kind that comes in small boxes and a box of it once in awhile can just tie you over...so I'm thankful....

see we don't have to have a million dollars to be thankful for do we?

but it would help... I tell you...

Oh boy Nerds.....never had those, are those like gummy bears lol. We've got I call them mini milk duds but they aren't, they are whoppers, the crunchy malted milks. As a kid I remember them being bigger and for some reason didn't think that was their name, called whoppers... but maybe they were.

no pac... it's like a tangy sour hard candy...that looks like pebbles...

Oh yeah, looked them up.......like pebbles, and willy wonka, those have been around since the movie.  I must have tried them but since don't care for sour, probably only tried once. I like the small jelly bellys with all the different flavors like buttered popcorn : D ...and can even take an occasional sour apple

I am thankful that I was raised to think about what it was like to have to squeeze the life out of every penny.  I was at the store today and two kids, probably 11, 12 or so in age (I am thinking brother and sister) were ahead of me in line.  They were dutifully counting out change to cover their $16.35 worth of groceries and even though they had obviously tried very hard to buy wisely, they asked the cashier to set back the loaf of bread they had chosen, realizing they were about 40 cents short.   As they were trying to sort their packages to carry them out, I asked the cashier if they needed the bread as well and when she replied "well, they're short", I did the only thing I could...told her to add it to my bill...I don't care what the circumstances are, a child should never be hungry.

Thanks but I am thinking and hoping that any adult who saw it would do the same...

I just feel so lucky to have the means to be able to reach out.

Absolutely takn, very nice. Can't imagine anyone who wouldn't or hasn't several times throughout life even starting in childhood pitched in when someone was short at the register, given food to the homeless, etc. so guess I'm thankful to consider that common human decency and thoughtfulness.
