Although the rolls of the uninsured have dropped dramatically since the Affordable Care Act, better known as Obamacare, took effect in January, a nagging 15 percent of the population remains uninsured, according to a new survey sponsored by the Transamerica Center for Health Studies. Still, the percentage of Americans without health coverage has dropped markedly from 22 percent to 15 percent over the past 11 months.

so, let's do the math.  there are about 310 million americans.  22% of that would be about 65 million americans, including kids.  and now it is down to 15%, which would be about 46 million.  a drop of about 20 million more folks, not 2.3 million....

now if you only want to count adults who have obtained insurance due to obamacare, the number gets way smaller.  the total population counts minors, these numbers only count adults who probably have an average of 2 kids or so, and maybe a dependent wife or husband, covered by their policy.  so you could take these increases and multiply by whatever that average works out to be.  but here is the raw numbers of newly insured adults obtaining coverage-

(07/23/14) The number of Americans without health insurance declined by 10.3 million because of Obamacare enrollment, according to a report from the Department of Health and Human Services and the Harvard School of Public Health, published in The New England Journal of Medicine on Wednesday.

That represents a reduction in the uninsured rate for adults aged 18 to 64 from 21 percent last September to 16.3 percent this April, the HHS analysis concludes. The lower rate remained stable through June. The first open enrollment period under Obamacare began Oct. 1, 2013, and officially ended March 31, 2014.

The adult uninsured rate has declined across all ages, racial and ethnic groups, and among men and women, according to HHS. The report is based on previously reported Gallup survey data and a comparison to health insurance exchange enrollment numbers compiled by HHS.
