Florida man fatally shoots daughter and six grandchildren, police say

 
 
A Florida man fatally shot his daughter and grandchildren before committing suicide Thursday, according to the Gilchrist County sheriff.
The shooting occurred about 4 p.m. local time in Bell, which is near Gainesville.
 
The shooter was identified by authorities as Don Spirit, 51.
 
The children are 3 months to 10 years old, Gilchrist County Sheriff Robert Schultz said.
 
Spirit called 911 and said he intended to do harm to himself and others, Schultz said. A sheriff’s deputy made contact with Spirit before he killed himself, Schultz said.
 
Spirit was sentenced to three years in prison from 2003 to 2006, according to the department of corrections.
 
Spirit was sentenced to prison after he shot his 8-year-old son to death during a hunting trip in 2001, the Orlando Sentinel reported.
 
Spirit was offered a plea deal because he said the shooting was an accident, so he was sentenced on a felony firearms violation.
 
 
 
so, a repeat gun criminal.  it would have been illegal for him to secure a gun.  So, who sold it to him?
