Biden Does NOT need a BILL to close the border
He only needs a PEN. Thats all he needed to open it.
Thats all he needed to close it. Thats all Trump needed.
Maybe this is just Proof Trump is better than Biden.

  • The Vine that Ate the South may be burping out ozone pollution as well, according to collaborating researchers from Harvard, the University of Virginia and Stony Brook University.

In a study that compared a kudzu-covered plot in Georgia to an uninfested plot nearby, researchers found the kudzu-infested patch released double the amount of nitric oxide into the atmosphere.
Nitric oxide, which also is produced by burning fossil fuels and is in vehicle and industrial emissions, is a key ingredient in the chemical stew that produces harmful ground-level ozone.
Published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, the study theorizes that, if kudzu continues to cover more acreage and to expand its range, it eventually could offset improvements in air quality being made through pollution controls on vehicles and power plants.
University of Virginia ecologist Manuel Lerdau said the research is just a beginning and the study's extrapolations about kudzu's ability to affect air quality in the future are based on extreme assumptions about increases in kudzu cover.
Lerdau also couldn't say whether air quality in Jefferson County, which has a relatively dense infestation of kudzu, already is being affected.
"It is possible, but our pollution model works on a coarser scale than one city, so I can't say yea or nay with any confidence," he said. "But the take home message is this: We knew that kudzu was a bad plant in terms of taking over forests and killing trees, now we know it is potentially a very serious pollutant."
Ozone is produced through a chemical reaction when nitrogen compounds react with volatile organic compounds in the presence of heat and sunlight.
VOCs are released from the use of solvents and automobile fuels, but they also are produced naturally by kudzu and many other plants, especially sweetgum, oak and pine trees, Lerdau said. What makes kudzu uniquely obnoxious is its unmatched ability to produce both ingredients that go into ozone formation. Kudzu sucks nitrogen out of air and "fixes" it in the soil. Once there the nitrogen is converted by bacteria into polluting nitrogen compounds.
"It may be as close to a 'polluting plant' as one can find," the study concludes.
High levels of ozone can trigger coughing, throat irritation and congestion and can worsen bronchitis, emphysema and asthma. In the past week, forecasters have issued air quality alerts warning that ozone levels could climb high enough to affect sensitive groups.
James Miller, a U.S. Forest Service researcher and a longtime combatant in the kudzu war, called the study "valuable research on the links between biological invasion and atmospheric quality."
However, Miller said he had reservations about the study's estimate of current kudzu coverage, which he believed to be too high. The U.S. Forest Service estimates that kudzu covers 249,959 forested acres in the Southeast, with Mississippi in the lead at 99,560 acres covered, followed by Alabama at 61,295 acres covered and then Georgia at 26,669 acres.
Miller said there's never been a careful study of kudzu coverage in urban areas, so it is impossible to estimate how many acres in total are covered, though one commonly repeated guesstimate is that 1 million acres nationwide are covered by the invasive vine.
In the first half of the 20th century, kudzu was promoted to prevent erosion and was planted in agricultural fields, on roadsides and on former mine sites. While it originally spread vegetatively, it is now known to be spreading by seed and has headed north to New Jersey and beyond.
The study points out that increasing levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere have been shown to stimulate the growth of vines.
There is no national kudzu control and eradication program, and fighting the vine is a difficult multi-year process.
Miller said effective kudzu control combines various methods, including prescribed fire in late winter, broadcast herbicide applications, and the cultivation of a cover crop or pine trees to stabilize the site and shade remaining kudzu. Intensive grazing by goats or cattle, mechanical treatments and hand-cutting of rootcrowns also have been used, Miller said.
