we went to the Friends of the Library "Ice Cream social" today, and I am stuffed!  Ice cream, cookies, brownies and lemonade  and tea.  What a spread.  bought some good reading material while we were there.  It has been a while since I attended an old fashion Ice cream social, had a good time with family.

That sounds wonderful.
 
My son worked for our library for several years and always enjoyed the book sales...the high school would usuall hold a bake sale and the ladies of the FOL provided punch and coffee for the events...

shame , but it seems they just don't hold socials in communities anymore.  Met some new people and said hello to those I don't see very often.  I need to get out more, LOL!

Socials have become pretty much a small town thing, and they're great! The funny thing is city slickers seem to want what the small towns have, but they won't go out and replicate it themselves in their local neighborhoods!

Right nanna!  Atlanta has a Kudzu fest every year, and while visiting a friend I bought a basket made from Kudzu vine.  I brought it home, but  and after having a dream that it started to grow and covered my house, I sold it in a yard sale, LOL!

I used to go to ice cream socials when I was kid, didn't think anyone would still have them.
