Missouri GOP Furious Over 'Disgusting' Voter Registration Booths In Ferguson



The Executive Director of the Missouri Republican Party has labeled an effort by some Ferguson residents to fix its paltry twelve-percent voter participation rate "disgusting." And he seems to defensively insinuate that Blacks vote for Democrats and whites vote for Republicans.

"In an interview with Breitbart News, Missouri RNC executive director Matt Wills expressed outrage about the reports" of voter registration booths popping up in Ferguson, Breitbart reports.


“If that’s not fanning the political flames, I don’t know what is,” Wills said, “I think it’s not only disgusting but completely inappropriate.”

Wills explained that the shooting death of Michael Brown was a tragedy for everyone.

“This is not just a tragedy for the African American community this is a tragedy for the Missouri community as well as the community of what we call America,” he said. “Injecting race into this conversation and into this tragedy, not only is not helpful, but it doesn’t help a continued conversation of justice and peace.”





Wouldn't the director of a political party welcome more potential voters? If not, why not?

In a national survey released Monday by the Pew Research Center, blacks are more than twice as likely as whites to believe that the fatal shooting of Mike Brown and the civil unrest that followed “raises important issues about race that need to be discussed.”

The survey shows reactions to the story are sharply divided along racial lines, with some 80 percent of blacks saying the shooting of an unarmed black teenager raises racial issues that merit discussion, while 47 percent of whites say race is getting more attention than it deserves.

White-black divisions are nothing new among reactions to news stories with racial undertones.

Blacks and whites disagreed starkly on the verdict and impact of the O.J. Simpson trial. The poll revealed that 62 percent of whites at the time believed that Simpson was guilty, compared to just 14 percent of blacks.

More recently, Pew Research showed a substantial racial divide over the George Zimmerman verdict, with 86 percent of blacks saying they were dissatisfied with the “not guilty” verdict in the 2012 shooting death of Trayvon Martin. By contrast, only 30 percent of whites said they were dissatisfied.

It is "disgusting", It took the death of an 18 year old for the African-American community to NOW decide to get involved.
Frankly 50 of the 53 policemen in Ferguson could be black, the mayor could be black how would that have changed Michael Browns decision to steal $49 worth of cigars and attack a police officer?

It is disgusting to take political advantage of this incident.  But after all, "You never let a
serious crisis go to waste" is the left wing's mantra.
