Let's keep things in perspective...

The larger perspective is that police misconduct and the police state is growing, and the natives have reached the breaking point.  The recent civil disobedience, rioting, and police thugery in Ferguson reminds us of what happens when police states and bad economics and government policy are mixed together.

What the cops should have done was arrest the looters and vandals and keep them in prison so the courts could have made them pay restitution to the owners of damaged and looted property. 

 Maybe they thought that would be pointless?  Hard to squeeze blood from a turnip...   So we all pay for their violence one way or another with insurance premiums, taxes, etc.
