I’m not sure why the Obama administration thinks it will make a difference if they extend the deadline to sign up for insurance on the exchanges from December 15 to December 23. Whatever gains they believe they’ll make will be illusory.

The fact is, only Connecticut is signing up more people on the exchange than are applying for Medicaid. That does not bode well for consumers who may face huge increases in premiums next year because not enough healthy people are signing up for insurance.

It doesn’t matter what the insurance companies think. Or consumers, businesses, congress, or anyone else. This is not about “fixing” anything; it’s about political damage control and how to hide the failure of Obamacare from the American people – hopefully until after the 2014 election.

The Obozocare web site won't be ready in one year so extending the deadline is what... a side show.
When the web site initially rolled out, it was stated in the news that there were 400 million lines of code, as if that would have been a good excuse for such an epic failure as we've all seen. First of all, it does not take 400 million lines of code or was that another lie.

The contractor doing the programming testified last week in front of congress that perhaps 60% - 70% of the program for the web site has yet to be done. There was no penalty clause in the contract that would have prevented payment to the contractor unless the site actually works. Looks like someone got a free ride and the tax payers just got the shaft.
