I've been meaning to tell ya'll...
 
our squirrels here are different...
 
The color or yours (normal to me) are white and grey...
 
Ours are light tan and grey... all of the... can't figure that out for the world...wonder if it's a different breed or what....they all do the same thing, I guess... beg for food.... love them as long as their not in my house....
 
Saw the biggest raccoon the other day... while watering the flowers... I mean hugh... someone is feed that one or it's pregnant...it's bigger then my shih tzu for sure... but...my shih tzu would fight it... and possible loose... by bigum would more then likely run from it... go figure... he's still a puppy kinda...
 
but I don't know he killed a cat and acted like he enjoyed it... I don't want to see him kill a raccoon cause the last reading here there have a few with rabies roaming around...

There are all kinds of squirrels..........that one sunshine shows is our Eastern grey squirrel........other places have black, or red squirrels and even there are albino ones........I have hand raised 5 baby ones.....and one was only a week old when I got him and raised him until he was 6 1/2 mos. old........

I found a picture of the black one........they are usually found in midwestern US as well as other countries........I have seen one but it was dead

When I was a child, we had the Fox red squirrels.......they are bigger than the grey.......they died off and the greys took over

I have red squirrels too but there are way more gray ones. I've had one black one show up once too.

When I lived on the coast, one of my neighbors said she had a white one come to her house until the took out the trees next door to build houses......

We have western grays, reds, northern flying and douglas squirrels native to WA state...we see a lot of the douglas in our area...which have more brown and copper/red tones.  They are gorgeous.

Never seen a black squirrel before, a white one yes....
 
and Takn.... those are the ones that we have here... I like them... when I first got here and saw one I thought they were dirty from all the mud and such here but wonders never cease, I guess...
 
learning somethings about nature is so interesting... I tell you...
