He was a pretty one. There  are a few of them roaming the gardens.

It's just not fair - now you have another pet that you can enjoy for free!   Are these just wild turtles that pop in to your garden?  This one has such a pretty shell.   When the kids were little we had two big Momma and Poppa tortoises and we used to sit out on the patio and watch them mate - it was a fascinating sight accompanied by sound!    They buried their eggs in our garden and then one day the little ones popped up out of the earth.  I think we raised about 6 of them and then we found homes for them.

Yep...we have free box  turtles roaming the yard. Back in PA in the 90's, my son was begging us to get him a water turtle. We said no, too much trouble and they smell. He was into ninja turtles big time. I was out mowing the lawn one day and damned if one did not fall from the sky in front of me. I looked up and a hawk was swirling around. I guess he dropped it. We lived near some wet lands....anyway....next thing you know it was a trip to the pet shop for 3 more because there were four TMNTurtles.
