Serious Non partisan hack Thread. What would you do?

Please keep this thread honest, civil  and partisan hack free...if you feel the need to say, "kill all liberals/conservatives," fu*k Obama/Palin/Romney etc, please leave. 
 
In response to these mass shootings, what solutions do you have to address them, or how would you address them?
 
 
1 )  ban all firearms?
2 )  Ban certain type of firearms?
3 )  Arm teachers, mandatory police/guards at every school?
4 )  Remove "gun free zones"?
5 )  Ban or restrict ultra violent video games?
6 )  Fund and address mental health issues
7 )  Enforce registration of firearms and require licenses for them? 
8 )  Reintroduce prayer in school?

Remove gun free zones.

Armed police offers in our schools.

Shatter proof glass on all doors.

Id badges to enter the school building,and board school buses.

Parents meet with school officials by appointment,in a building off set from the main school.

8.  Commit the dangerously mentally ill to mental institutions, like we used to do 35 years ago.

Unfortunately, groups like ACLU insisted the mentally ill should be free to roam the streets.  This resulted in chronic homelessness and abhorrent mass shootings.

44 states already have these laws.   CT is one of 6 that do not.

NEWTOWN, Conn. (CBS Connecticut) – As the national discussion on mental health continues following the tragic shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School that killed 27 people, a recent mental health bill that was defeated in Connecticut may have helped in keeping Adam Lanza away.

Connecticut Senate Bill 452 was proposed in February “to enhance the care and treatment of persons with psychiatric disabilities in both inpatient and outpatient settings.” But the bill was defeated in March, with opposition calling it “outrageously discriminatory.” The aCLU said the bill would “infringe on patients’ privacy rights by expanding [the circle of] who can medicate individuals without their consent.”

Had the aOT bill been passed, it would have given the state the right to institutionalize a person who is mentally ill for treatment if the state believes that the person could be a danger to himself or the community.

The powerful aCLU lobby as well as others who opposed it, felt that Adam Lanza's rights were more important than the rights of those children to live.

First we need to address the nature and magnitude of the "problem".   You have as good a chance of getting hit by lightning than falling victim to a mass murderer.  Human nature is no more controllable than Mother Nature.

Those are the solutions, IMHO.

In general, I feel that the best way to protect law-abiding and innocent people against bad folks with guns is to make sure there
are many more good folks with guns and that they be
ubiquitous, responsible and well trained.
