Why?  What in his background makes you think that?

We can't cut spending drastically unless we end all the foreign wars, then we have to cut entire agencies of government, then we have to allow young people to opt out of SS and eventually end that program, the same with Medicare.  Romney just isn't there.  Cutting increases in spending will not stop the imminent explosion.  Spending must be cut to pre 2000 levels so a surplus can be built.

Romney has turned around many failing enterprises, many that were said to be irrepairable.
 
And returning to 2000 spending levels is not good enough.  The total structure of the tax code, public education, entitlements and management of the government has to change.

He's not talking about doing those things and his past actions in government give us no indication that he will.  Government is not a business and cannot be run like a business.  His Bain experience is of no value in Washington.  In business you can make unilateral decisions and call the shots yourself.  In government, the ability to lead in the right direction is key and Romney has flipped-flopped so much he can't even be trusted to lead.  If he wins, it will be by a small margin and he has no mandate that defines him.  The tax code is not an issue.  Taxes are not the problem except that we are taxed too much.  The deficit problem is not a revenue problem.

Chuck, I know that you want to think that Paul was the ONLY answer.
 
Well, he is not part of the options we have facing us.
 
In business, you may have the ability to make a unilateral decision, but in business, there is no where to hide.  You have to be 100% committed to your decision.   But just making that decision does not mean that it takes effect.  You have to lead everyone to pull on the rope to get that decision implemented. 
 
In government, all you have to do is make a decision.  Politicians, including Paul, do not work to get things implemented.  Politicians talk but do not walk.
 
That is EXACTLY why we need a business expert running government.  They know how to make the tough decisions AND rally the troops AND give them the tools needed to reach the goal.

"Romneycare" as you call it, was a state issue, not a Federal one. Romney at least seems to understand the difference between what a state,which the Founders intended to be laboratories of democracy, can do, and what the Feceral government can do.
