I hope America remembers him more for his role as the sherriff of Mayberry, and not so much for his betrayal of America by trying to sedate Americans into accepting Obamacare. ETC, your a liberal. Let me ask you a question. I have liberal friends who claim that his 1957 movie, A Face in the Crowd, is a fortelling of Rush and Glenn Beck. Rhodes in the movie dealt very little with politics, though during his career he did work toward the election efforts of that senator. I find Howard Stern to be more akin, as he is primarily not politics, but does get involved in his political pursuits. What say ye?

Never saw that movie.  So I can't answer your question.  :No time for Sargents" was the only movie I saw with Andy Griffith.  Andy Griffith Show" and Matlock" were the only TV shows I watched.  My first exposure to Andy was his story about football...

A Face in the Crowd is about how power can corrupt.  Even the most homespun country bumpkin can get a taste of power and continue to want more.  It wasn't about Rhodes helping some guy get elected, it was about his perceived ABILITY to get someone elected.  It was all about the power.
