I don't have Mr. Prager's remarks, but what does everybody think about that?

My immediate thoughts...... Government is taking over jobs that had been done by churches, charities, service clubs, and voluntary organizations.  ..... If tax collectors take too much money from each citizen, they have less money for donations. ..... Before there was a FEMA, emergencies were handled with charities, volunteers and so on. FEMA is a waste of money. .... Individuals should help the poor; not government. .... Welfare leads to habitual welfare recipients and a wastes human lives.

My thoughts .... I already commented on welfare in #1.... Also, spending for the social and entitlement programs is growing on a steep upward trend. It is not possible to grow revenues as fast as the spending for these programs is growing. Eventually, these programs will cause a complete financial collapse of the US government.

IMHO gov't will never replace the churches and charities in this country and the poor will suffer even more...

The ONLY way to correct these mistakes is by someone completely ELIMINATING those agencies whose functions are either completely UNNECESSARY, or REDUNDANT; consolidating agencies with duplicate functions (and reducing the number of workers), and getting the government OUT of things it has no CONSTITUTIONAL AUTHORITY to be involved with.

hmmmmmm .... well we are not supposed to judge others ........ but people are becoming self centered. .... I think over emphasizing "equality" has lead people to comparing themselves with other people way too much. So we have too many people forming jealousies and coveting their neighbor's possessions. ..... This leads to sinful behavior.

Absolutely! .... Welfare recipients are lounging in front of the TV eating food purchased with government food stamps. Food can include fruits and vegetables picked by Mexicans who may traveled thousands of miles to do the work. ..... Remarkable!

Yes, and the Bible clearly says "Those not willing to work shall not eat." ....

I think it is more than "getting something for nothing"..... People take more than they earn. They are greedy at all income levels. Lazy employees do as little as they can get away with to get a paycheck.

It seems every policy of the liberals is to create the conditions to keep the poor in a poor condition where they believe only the gov't can help them...

This is another thing the liberals try to take away from the poor, their faith in God, gov't wants to be their God and many fall into that trap...
