Title: Healing prayers requested Post by: takncarabizniz on 04 04, 22, 04:50:06:PM A dear friend, Dale, has been diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer and pyloric sphincter valve disease. He's been placed on a feeding tube, as the doctors are not sure he can withstand surgery to repair the valve.
No other decisions on treatment have been made as yet, but I'm asking for prayers that he has the resolve to now deal with his health issues head on, and that he will choose the best course of action for himself and his family. He's kind of a hard-headed one, but this has really thrown him for a loop. He has decided to try chemo, though there is no change in the valve issue, so he has a stomach tube and is losing weight rapidly. He is not very accepting of mortality, and as late as this weekend was telling friends that he plans to go back to work and expects he'll need another 3 years before retirement...even though the doctors have said he may have less than a year. But we continue to pray and keep his spirits up otherwise. Title: Re: Healing prayers requested Post by: Ladyelaine on 04 19, 22, 03:07:12:PM I could write a book about this exact condition/situation but will boil it down to hoping & praying that Dale makes the right decisions concerning treatments.
Title: Re: Healing prayers requested Post by: Ladyelaine on 06 02, 22, 09:02:49:PM Now that it is June, is his condition improving or at least not getting any worse?
Title: Re: Healing prayers requested Post by: takncarabizniz on 06 23, 22, 07:37:45:AM He has accepted that his health has to be the priority...and has started chemo. Our best friends drove down to see him this week and said he's lost a lot of weight, but overall, didn't look bad. His spirits were far better this week than in the past. At one point he didn't even want anyone to come see him, so relenting and allowing his childhood best bud to visit was a huge step.
Although the prognosis is not favorable, he decided to let the doctors have their way with him. I am unsure if he still wants to try to have the valve surgery...he was talking about wanting to continue working, but both my best friend and I chastised him and told him it's far more important to concentrate on healing and being with your family...you won't get this time back. Thank you for continuing to give him thought and prayer. Title: Re: Healing prayers requested Post by: Ladyelaine on 06 26, 22, 05:45:59:PM Thank you for the update.
Title: Re: Healing prayers requested Post by: takncarabizniz on 03 15, 23, 07:12:23:AM Our friend passed away yesterday. He never really accepted that he was wasting away, due to the inability to actually have anything but a liquid diet, and he remained defiant to the end. He was always very stubborn, even as a kid.
But Heaven has gained a mouthpiece, for sure, so I expect a lot more thunder and lightning, and a real risk taker...I hope God accepts that he will soon ask for his '65 Mustang and '57 BelAir back to zoom around the clouds... Rest in peace my wild and crazy friend. Title: Re: Healing prayers requested Post by: D2D on 03 15, 23, 06:01:47:PM My condolences!

Used to tease him it's why we could never get married...one of us would always be trying to outdo the other on the crazy train, LOL https://www.youtube.com/v/1EUDG-I-MY4 |
