I'm in southern Oregon at the moment.  Staying in my daughter's fully renovated, lovely turn of the century home but missing Oregon.  Playing it by ear as to when I'll return.  It was a 2 day drive and I've been here a couple of weeks now, watching my daughter pay $4.75 a gallon for gas and $7.00 at Albertsons for a box of Honey Bunches of Oats cereal.  I'm hating the traffic but loving the family, especially the almost 2 month old baby girl addition. 

I packed for a heatwave but it's been colder than home so far.   The palm trees are blowing in the wind!

$7 for a box of cereal?  Outrageous! 

And inflation hasn't even hit yet.

Absolutely, Emily, still so stunned at all this. I'm so sorry about the recent loss of your beloved husband. It's just so unthinkable. I think of you & your family & Hannah often.So glad you are with them!!! Know the area, & how forunate your family brought it back to the way it once was and should be, a testament to their hard work dedication.
With gas prices & everything else through the roof, only going out as needed.

Thank you Sun and thank you Pacifica.  Im staying at my daughter's house in San Dimas and love the surrounding towns of La Verne, Montclair, Glendora etc.  So many cute restaurants and all the stores you could want.  I'll probably be back in Oregon by July and our son is bringing me back.
