Title: Pounding Hale
Post by: emilyB on 03 25, 20, 02:20:59:PM
I was in the kitchen around 5 pm yesterday when I heard a big loud noise overhead and I looked out to see heavy hale beating the deck.  It was so loud and went on for about 10 minutes.  There's still a bit of it left this morning.  Our whole neighborhood was cloaked in white.

Wow, more whacky weather!

We were supposed to be nice today, but it was windy and rainy again.  Very tired of it all...I have about 20 rhodie starts to get planted and need to start mowing my wetland areas before they get too long...

Hail season for us  is mostly in April. A few years ago, we had to replace a 2 year old roof, gutters, and our patio top. Not looking forward this season on top of coronavirus.
Hope you don't have any damage Emily.

All is well and we didn't find any damage to the one vehicle that is kept outside - the motorhome.

However, today started with a power outage in the early morning and we got our power back at 5.30 pm finally.  Quarantine with no electricity all day was not fun!  The latest news was that someone was texting and driving and hit a power pole which went down into a swamp along with the car and driver.  I got that from our Nextdoor website but it wasn't confirmed on the news.  There were over 3,000 homes without power.  I went to the store in the next close by town and there were a few traffic lights out and hardly anyone was around.  It was a good time to get a few needed things but shelves were empty and not much selection.

We have been having cool high 50s and clouds.  Staying dry.
The gardener came and spent a lot of extra time, weeding and trimming.  We paid him for the month, he didn't come last Friday because it was too wet.  Tears up my sod when he mows with it wet.

I went ahead and paid my taxes, I owed both the Feds and State, for the first time I can remember.  I thought about not paying until the later date they have posted, but I have the money and they both are gonna need it the way they are spending.

I miss being able to go do things away from home.  I have been getting in a walk around the hood, waving at neighbors.

I was trying to buy some groceries on line today.
I is easier and less frustrating to use the Senior hours.
I may even go to Costco next week.
Not many bare shelves around here.
Fresh vegetables and milk are the only things I'm getting low on.
