Title: Prayers for a dear friend as he passes
Post by: takncarabizniz on 06 04, 19, 01:14:17:PM
We just received word this morning that a dear friend that my husband worked with for many years, has been placed in hospice care.  It was unexpected, in a way, as he, nor his wife, ever gave any indications that he was sick, and apparently, his wife was not even aware how much pain he was in.  He finally went to the doctor last week and found out he was in liver and kidney failure, as well as heart failure.
He is only expected to live a couple of days.  Asking for peace for him, as he passes, and a watchful eye over his family as they travel to be with him, strength to deal with this sudden devastating news, and courage to help him pass from this world without pain and suffering.

Many thanks for your prayers and positive vibes being sent to Steve and Linda in Colorado.

Safe travels to this family~Prayers going out to Colorado and hoping for a miraculous recovery if it be God's Will. If it's time for him to go, yes may he be relieved of pain and surrounded by love til the end. Life is so fragile.

And never easy to lose a longtime friend and co-worker! You and hubby hang in there, Takn.

Thank you Pacifica.

He passed away just after midnight.  Luckily, his daughter made it home in time and his wife and other children were with him as well...he went peacefully in his sleep.

Definitely on my list.  Its a hard thing to see your loved one pass away in front of you.

Oh my goodness. Can't ask for more than that, passing in sleep. Wow. He really did go fast, didn't he. I always hold out hope for some miraculous healing. All the best to his wife and children, they must be in shock. May he rest in peace. Good of you to bring prayers to their family.

Thank you.  I know his wife is still in shock.  When we called yesterday to ask what we could send right away to help out, and see if there were funeral details, she was already tasking the kids with separating out his tools and things to "keep busy", and cooking up a storm.

But she is a very resilient woman, a volunteer EMT and firefighter, works in corrections, and always like the "room mother", cooking and baking for parties at work, schools, and community events.  I just know that there will be that moment of recognition of the situation, and I hate that we won't be there with her.  The guys worked side by side for years and our kids spent hours playing together.

This is so sad to hear and when it's unexpected news of a long time friend it comes as a shock.  I've been praying a lot recently and will certainly add the family in Colorado to my list.  Having strong faith and prayer can help you cope through the worst of times.  God Bless Linda and her family and may Steve rest in peace.
