Title: Support for abortion rights grows
Post by: wvit1001 on 05 26, 19, 11:45:22:AM
Americans have become more supportive of abortion rights over the past year, even as a wave of Republican-controlled state governments have imposed new restrictions, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll released on Sunday.

The poll found that 58% of American adults said abortion should be legal in most or all cases, up from 50% who said that in a similar poll that ran in July 2018.

While support broke down along partisan lines, passions were higher among registered Democrats, with 81% saying abortion should be legal in most or all cases, while 55% of registered Republicans said it should be illegal in most or all cases.

The Base, The TrEA$on party and The Red State are actually gifting all future power to the Democrats with their stupidity with the games they are playing now.  They have actually turned abortion into another liability to their hopes of being elected in 2020.

but privacy in your medical decisions is a right.

So I can sell my own organs?  I can use illegal drugs?  Do I have the right to make medical decisions about other people's bodies?  Unborn babies, for example?

Most people in the U.S. disapprove of the New York abortion law allowing abortion up to birth.  But guess what?  They don't have to live there if they don't like their laws.

and most also support upholding Roe v. Wade.

Do most people even know what that decision means?

you should argue with the Supreme Court about your concerns dan.   but then those concerns were raised and rejected already, it's a shame you stil think they are relevant.

That’s why this is a States rights issue, not a federal one !

but sine it's not a state's rights issue.   it's governed by the Constitution making it a federal issue.

There is no federal law that condones abortion is there nutwit ?

That makes it a States rights issue not a federal one unless one uses the violation of civil rights argument for the fetus !

Are you making that argument death cultist nutwit ???

sine-qua-non,

Re: reply #16

A recent poll found that most people in the US disapproved of Alabama's unconstitutional law, most of them also support the US Supreme Court's Roe v. Wade decision.

Oh and by the way, JSYK: the people of the United Sates of America live in states that are governed by the federal government. In the US political system, the Constitution is the Law of the Land. When the US Supreme Court upheld the constitutionality of abortion in Roe v. Wade (1973), abortion became the Law of the Land.

Most Americans don’t support the NY birth abortion killings 69 BirdBrain

Do you ?

Btw, the SCOTUS doesn’t make laws, so how could as you ignorantly claim

that abortion is the law of the land ?

Looks like nutwit caught in another lie won’t admit it per usual !

Very few people want to abolish abortions completely.  Everyone else knows there is a need for that at some point. But not out of convenience or inconvenience.
We also know (and you don't) that for every child in the adoption system there are 30 couples waiting in line to be able to adopt. And yes, even the "damaged" ones you don't want.

you talk in circles sine.    abortion isn't a right.   but privacy is.   try to keep up, otherwise it just looks like you are purposefully trying to confuse thing.

You talk lunacy nutwit.

Taking innocent life isn’t a privacy issue any more than the assassination of JFK one of your own was!

Why won’t you comment about what the abortion survivor said, ?

Because you have no sensible answer is why, right ?
